Inda Beez (test)

Inda Beez is a visual artist based in Lausanne. She works between drawing, collage and photography, building images from what cities discard — torn posters, faded shop signs, the accidental marks left on walls by people who were not making art. Her practice began in printmaking. The shift toward collage came from a habit she could not shake: photographing surfaces on her way to the studio, then finding she preferred the photographs to what she was making inside. She works in series, usually over long stretches. A body of work takes eighteen months, sometimes two years. The images accumulate before they resolve into anything. Her work has been shown in Switzerland and France, in artist-run spaces and small institutions. She teaches occasionally and prefers not to explain her pieces before people have looked at them.
